Vatican gold mosaic tile earrings

These earrings stand out for their special pendants: original Vatican gold tesserae, sourced from the ‘Reverenda Fabbrica di San Pietro’.
The Fabbrica was active in the production of enamels and gold for mosaics up to 200 years ago.
Rediscovered in the underground of Studio Cassio, these mosaic tesserae are crafted from a red enamel “pizza,” on which gold leaf is applied and protected by an additional, ultra-thin layer of glass.
